Fr. Anthony Augustine Owusu-Peprah, the 7th of 12 children, was born on August 9, 1979, in Kumasi, Ghana. to Raphael and Mary Owusu. He had his primary school education at a Wesley College practice school. He was moved to Martyrs of Uganda Junior High School to solidify his Catholic education and upbringing. He then attended a Catholic boys school for his Senior years. He joined the family business (Santa Maria Farms and Company Ltd.) after school and rose through the ranks to become the general manager. Along the way he combined studying Diploma in Secretarial Duties at the Kumasi Polytechnic in Ghana and completed in 2001. After 10 years of committed service to the family businesses he decided to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a Roman Catholic Priest. He studied philosophy at the St. Paul’s Major Seminary in Ghana where he became the SRC President. He moved on to the St. Peter’s Regional Seminary and completed in 2016. He was Ordained to the Catholic Priesthood for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi, Ghana on July 16, 2016. Fr. Augustine was appointed as the Associate Priest of St. Theresa Parish, Asawase, Kumasi. In the first year of his Priesthood, he was appointed as the Priest Secretary to the Archbishop of Kumasi, Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Anokye, a position he served at until his latest appointment to St. Robert Bellamine, El Campo, TX, as Associate Priest. Fr. Augustine (as he is popularly called) likes reading, music and he is an ardent golfer. Above all he is passionate about the Catholic Faith and the propagation of same. He has been serving here at St. Robert's since July 1, 2022.
