In the summer you drew a vision for our parish during the Sunday homily, and there were a whole lot of similarities. After talking with the leaders of the parish and our different councils for months, we have been able to discern different visions for our parish. This is a lot to digest and it will take around ten years to accomplish, but in order to live out this vision, we have to know where we are going and who we are called to be as the family of God here at St. Robert’s. As you read these visions, please also consider as well the vision God has for you and your family.
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus tells us, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” and the Gospel of Mark adds, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Our one purpose here at St. Robert’s is to bring all people to know Jesus that they might live out the joyful vision God has for their lives and for our families to live eternally with God in heaven. What we are about is not simply a matter of life or death, but it’s about Eternal Life and Eternal Death. This is what motivates us to bring all people to the Lord, because their souls and ours are at stake. To that end, we desire to live out the joyful vision God has for us, primarily through living out our vocations and accompanying others, and encouraging them to do the same.
