Summary
We continue to work on the structure of our parish, especially its leadership. In the past year the Ministerio Hispano (Hispanic Ministry) team has been put together as one half of the parish council. It is comprised of ministry leaders and gives me excellent council and promotes the needs of our parishioners. I am beyond grateful for them. This year we will also be forming the English Speaking Ministry for our English speaking parishioners and it will also be comprised of ministry leaders who will give me council and promote the needs of our English speakers. Together, the Ministerio Hispano and the English Speaking Ministry will comprise the parish council who will help me steer the parish and provide for the needs of our parishioners. I am beyond excited about this development!
Another ministry that I have tried for two years to start is a men’s ministry. Of all our parishioners, our men are hurting the most. Kenny Solis is starting a men’s group called That Man Is You and they will be meeting early in the mornings once a week for prayer and to support one another as Catholic men. This will also be available in Spanish as soon as we get a leader for our Spanish speaking men.
Our other ministries continue to improve, strengthen, and are working closer together than I have ever seen. We will be having leadership conferences to equip our parish leaders and to create a culture of accompaniment here at St. Robert’s.
We also want to welcome all who have moved to El Campo and are joining our parish. This year I want to start a Saturday morning brunch for new parishioners so that they can get to know us and we can get to know them. Be on the lookout for more information!
